Introduction of Research

Now is a moment we need a fusion of quantitative experiments and mathematics in biology. Recently, measurement technologies such as live imaging and next-generation sequencers have been rapidly developed, and we have entered a new era in which molecular activities and gene expression levels in living tissues can be measured at single-cell resolution in a high throughput manner. Data is often enormous and high-dimensional, and far exceeds human cognitive ability to find some patterns hidden in the data. Our laboratory aims to elucidate theoretical logic of dynamic living systems from such data by combining mathematical modeling and machine learning.
