Announcement of Job Opportunity for Project Assistant Professor in Biophotonics Research Group
Job Title

Project Assistant Professor in Biophotonics Research Group (one position)

Main duties

Promote research on the mechanisms of hypothermia/hypometabolism of mammalian hibernation and torpor at molecular, cellular, and animal levels using in vivo recording, optical imaging, chemogenetics, optogenetics, viral gene transfection, transgenic animals, behavior analysis, etc.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree.

Those with research skills and knowledge of in vivo animal experiments on body temperature regulation and metabolism research are preferable.

Length of appointment

The maximum appointment period is five years with an annual renewal. It can be extended up to 10 years upon evaluation.

Required documents

1) Complete curriculum vitae (free form, photo attached, e-mail address provided).
2) List of publications (with full list of authors, titles, journal names, volumes, and page numbers).
3) Research statement (including research interests and future plans; approximately 600 words).
4) Name and contact information of one person who can reference the applicant.
5) Reprints of papers: Attach reprints of major paper(s) (including the paper in progress or scheduled for submission)(Max 3 papers).

August 25, 2023  (JST) (Must arrive by).

Start of employment

From October 1, 2023 (negotiable).

Selection will be made based on document screening and interviews.

Once the successful candidate is selected, the applicant will be notified by e-mail or telephone.
